Was YHWH alone when He created the universe? If not who was with Him and why?

   The first hint that we have that he was not alone is found in Genesis 1 26 And God said: 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.'
27 And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

This is not a mistake. A plural is mentioned twice in verse 26. "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.
Here we have YHWH wanting to make a creature that looks like "them".  In Hebrew nouns are given gender. They are either male or female. Now to many that  may seem not important, however, in the text of this verse I think it is.

The word "image" we are told in Hebrew dictionaries is male. The "likeness" is female. And when you finish the completion of this 6th day creation we find that "they" did create a in their likeness and image....they created a male and female human.

Now in Genesis 2:18 we find YHWH the creator of male and female, saying  'It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.'  How would YHWH know that it was not good for a man to be alone? Could it be that He, at one time, had experienced aloneness?

Wisdom
In Proverbs 8 and 9 we find some beautiful scripture written by King Solomon that describes another creation that took place in the distant past. A creation that occurred before the foundations of the earth.

Now with Solomon we have a big controversy. He loved women. He had numerous wives and concubines.  And it is stated in scripture that they were able to lure this Israelite King to the pagan practices of their homelands.1 Kings 11:4 - For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods; and his heart was not whole with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.

It is understood that all religions of paganism worships a female deity. I wonder why this would be so?  Did man want to create a god in man's image or was the pattern set with the beginnings of creation? Was there a female deity from the very beginning and mankind immulated and wanted to acknowledge Her?

A unique thing with Solomon is that he was given a chance to ask YHWH for anything that he wanted from Him....Solomon ask for wisdom2 Chronicles 1:11 - And God said to Solomon: 'Because this was in thy heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of them that hate thee, neither yet hast asked long life, but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge My people, over whom I have made thee king;....1 Kings 5:26 - And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as He promised him; 1 Kings 10:23 - So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.1 Kings 10:24 - And all the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

So now we have a wise king....the wisest ever....that loved women of all kinds of background. Hmmm. Sound a little oximoronish... Anyway, according to scripture this is the case.  Solomon also was a writer and he wrote down many things that pertain to this wisdom he was given.  In Proverbs we have a very interesting writing. Beginning in Proverbs 8 and reading through chapter 9 we have a wonderful introduction to what can only be called a goddess.  Here is her story.

Proverbs 8 & 9
1 Doth not wisdom call, and understanding put forth her voice?
2 In the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she standeth;
3 Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors, she crieth aloud:
4 'Unto you, O men, I call, and my voice is to the sons of men.
5 O ye thoughtless, understand prudence, and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
6 Hear, for I will speak excellent things, and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
7 For my mouth shall utter truth, and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness, there is nothing perverse or crooked in them.
9 They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
10 Receive my instruction, and not silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold.
11 For wisdom is better than rubies, and all things desirable are not to be compared unto her.
12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of devices.
13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil;
14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, power is mine.
15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
17 I love them that love me, and those that seek me earnestly shall find me.
18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, enduring riches and righteousness.
19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my produce than choice silver.
20 I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice;
21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance, and that I may fill their treasuries.
22 The LORD made me as the beginning of His way, the first of His works of old.
23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth;
26 While as yet He had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
27 When He established the heavens, I was there; when He set a circle upon the face of the deep,
28 When He made firm the skies above, when the fountains of the deep showed their might,
29 When He gave to the sea His decree, that the waters should not transgress His commandment, when He appointed the foundations of the earth;
30 Then I was by Him, as a nursling; and I was daily all delight, playing always before Him,
31 Playing in His habitable earth, and my delights are with the sons of men.
32 Now therefore, ye children, hearken unto me; for happy are they that keep my ways.
33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
34 Happy is the man that hearkeneth to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
36 But he that misseth me wrongeth his own soul; all they that hate me love death.'

1 Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars;
2 She hath prepared her meat, she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
3 She hath sent forth her maidens, she calleth, upon the highest places of the city:
4 'Whoso is thoughtless, let him turn in hither'; as for him that lacketh understanding, she saith to him:
5 'Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
6 Forsake all thoughtlessness, and live; and walk in the way of understanding.
7 He that correcteth a scorner getteth to himself shame, and he that reproveth a wicked man, it becometh unto him a blot.
8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee; reprove a wise man, and he will love thee.
9 Give to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the All-holy is understanding.
11 For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.
12 If thou art wise, thou art wise for thyself; and if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.'

Another description of her is found in Proverbs 3.

13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that obtaineth understanding.
14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15 She is more precious than rubies; and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
16 Length of days is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honour.
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her, and happy is every one that holdest her fast.
19 YHWH by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens.
20 By His knowledge the depths were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew.

This creation is so respected and honored by the Creator that He set this creation in the garden with the man and women. They were to take from her.. She is the tree of life. This tree was to nurture them and teach them.  Is it because of their rejection of this creation that we do not know her very well?

 Was YHWH always alone when He revealed Himself to man....let's take Moses as an example and check out Exodus 34.
5 The Lord descended in the cloud and stood there with him as he  called upon the name of YHWH.
6 Then YHWH passed by in front of him and proclaimed, "YHWH, the Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth [fn];
7 who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations."

24:9 Then Moses went up with [fn] Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel,
10 and they saw the God of Israel; and under His feet there appeared to be a pavement of sapphire, as clear as the sky itself.
11 Yet He did not stretch out His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and they saw God, and they ate and drank.

Here are 2 incidents when YHWH was seen. Once with Moses, only, and then once with witnesses, even seeing the apparatus than He was standing on.

And , yet , we now have the explanation that you cannot look upon YHWH and live. And Moses is shielded by be place in a cleft in a rock and even then his face shone so brightly after the incident that he had to cover his head with a veil.

33:20 But He said, "You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!"
21 Then the Lord said, "Behold, there is a place by  Me, and you shall stand there on the rock;
22 and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by.
23 "Then I will take My hand away and you shall see My back, but My face shall not be seen."
I cannot leave this subject as of yet, for we have another fellow that saw YHWH in His full glory and that was Ezekiel.

26 And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone; and upon the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man upon it above.
27
 And I saw as the colour of electrum, as the appearance of fire round about enclosing it, from the appearance of his loins and upward; and from the appearance of his loins and downward I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness round about him.
28 As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of YHWH. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke.

Ezekiel lived to tell about this awesome Being.

My question is , Is there a contradiction , or were their 2 Beings being seen. One that you could not look upon and live and another that you could survive seeing? And there are other  righteous men that we know spoke "face to face" with YHWH: Abraham, King Solomon, Moses. Who were they speaking to that was named YHWH and yet they lived?

 Again, I cannot answer that question.

 On to another conundrum :
Now I must ask another question. Israel is proclaimed by YHWH that he is his first born son. It is in the nature of things to produce a child there must be a mother involved. Could this female that is highly praised by YHWH be the Mother?

King Solomon and the priesthood made the mistake of placing asherah poles and setting them in and around the temple to be worshiped . I am sure they had festivals that celebrated the Queen of Heaven, making her cakes and probably having a festival that pertained to fertility, copying the ways the pagan celebrated their goddesses. Could it be that King Solomon was so thankful for having been given Wisdom and Her teachings that he felt a desire to celebrate Her, possibly giving Her presidence over YHWH , the Father. I often wonder about this. His mistake may not have been the worshipping of a goddess, but the way in which he and eventually the priesthood worshipped and honored Her.

Again, we have the warning of Jeremiah. In chapter 10 he describes what we would call a Xmas tree.
This could very well be Israel trying to worship the "tree of life". I think it is very interesting that this tree is associated with the worship of a "holy" mother and child.

1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel;
2
 thus saith the LORD: Learn not the way of the nations, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the nations are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the peoples are vanity; for it is but a tree which one cutteth out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman with the axe.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold, they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
5 They are like a pillar in a garden of cucumbers, and speak not; they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them, for they cannot do evil, neither is it in them to do good

http://fairypage.webs.com/judaism.htm

1 Kings 14:23 -  For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.
2 Chronicles 24:18 -  And they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.

And again,  we have Israel worshipping and doing who knows what in the groves.

This, of course, would have been against the Law of YHWH. But how did they get away with it? Is it possible that there was a goddess and they wanted to worship her and acknowledge her by celebrating in these pagan ways. YHWH told them not to make images, but they did, to honor her, and that was their justification?

I don't know, and we are not told. It is a mystery, in my eyes. Maybe she is hidden from us like the Name was? Maybe, YHWH has allowed her to be hidden so that we do not disrespect her? If she exists and was the Mother we see that she was not respected nor obeyed. Is it possible that this is what YHWH got so upset about.  Did He tell her to "pack your bags, We are outta here." And He has hidden her away so as not to profane her.

I do not know the answers to these questions, but I have reason to wonder about it. The Kaballah refers to the feminine aspect of YHWH and even says He has a consort....if He does, I prefer to think of her as His Wife......and being a wife in a marriage we have ONE. This would not contradict the word of YHWH. If married what they do would be as ONE. There would be 2 parents for Israel, as we have. And we have a true Family UNIT that would be in the image and likeness of Him.  Also , it would answer a question I have always had about the Torah.

Exodus 20:11 - Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land which the YHWH thy God giveth thee.

Not all biological parents are honorable and this command would be impossible to keep by some. However, if you do have a Mr and Mrs YHWH then you could very well keep that command.

These are my thoughts , after reading all the comments and thinking long and hard on this subject.

I think:

YHWH was alone for a very long time. He could do and make and create anything He wanted for all eternity.

But He was alone.....wild, adventurous, all mighty and all knowing, beyond what we can imagine, yet alone.
in His Kind.

He took the best of Himself, and created a Female, a wife, a companion so that he could share all that He had.

He created Her a home called this earth. She in turn wanted children....in their image and likeness. It's a woman thing. He loved Her beyond all knowing and wanted Her to be happy. They created humans, male and female.  Also, because we were created in Their image and likeness, I believe they have a body and form similar to ours...of what it is made of only They know.

The first of the children knew of Them both. That is why we have all religions except for Judaism, Xtianity, Islam remembering Her.....all religions that worship her are called pagan by these dominant 3 religions, but I think that She is remembered by them.

I think it is in man's nature to remember their Mother. Even men on battle fields call out to their MaMas when dieing. It is an instinctual , inbred thing in humans.

How She is to be worshiped, I do not know. I do believe They are our Parents and are to Honored as commanded....How we do that I do not know. Probably by being obedient and humble towards Them.

I believe that the human family is a model of what They are. They are ONE. They agree and walk together.

They feel the same emotions for their children as we do for ours.

The truth of Them has been hidden, the Female esp. as to create a male dominated society.

Israel sinned when they wanted to imitate the worship of the "pagan" nations around them by erecting asherah pole and decorating trees in her honor, all this being added to the worship and adding idols and all sorts of rituals that were not pleasing to the Father and dishonored Her. He took Her out of the picture and hid her away until Israel as a nation learns to worship and love the Parents in the proper way.

 Then and only then will He and She return to be the Parents that have been so long missing in this world.

Do I worship Her? I do not know how. I just think that She exists. Does this make me a pagan? I don't think so. For I love YHWH and only Him. When I am reintroduced to a Mother, Then and only then will I KNOW what else is needed to be done.

What does it mean to be Jewish?

Let me first tell you, I am not Jewish.  I was raised a Christian. However, I was taught at a young age the history of Israel from the Bible.   I have become aware that many people do not know much about the Jewish people. There is even a controversy as to whether  a Jew  is of a nation or of a religion. I am going to attempt to you a Biblical explanation of what I consider to be a Jew. I will not be giving a lot of scripture or even references. I will leave that up to you. I just want to present a simple explanation of what I have come to understand over the years.

Also, let me preface by saying I am not anti-Jewish or anti-semetic in any way. I love the people of the "Book".  As a matter of fact I love all races of people and only judge them on their actions and morals, and at that I am very careful to try to understand a persons background and up-bringing before I make any kind of judgement on whether I like a person or not.

We all know the story of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. YHWH, our Creator and the God of Israel called out this special man Abraham and announced to him that he was going to make a nation of his descendants.

Jacob , his grandson, became known in scriptures as Israel and he had 12 sons.  One of the son's name was Judah.  And this is where we gets the name Jew.  The word "Jew" is referred to  10 times in scripture and 8 of those times is in the book of Esther....once in Jeremiah and once in Zechariah.

The 12 sons, or tribes of Israel came out of Egypt and settled in the land known then as Canaan. This was the land that YHWH had promised the descendants of Jacob. When they arrived they all had assigned land and scattered to take over the land. Judah settled in the land surrounding Jerusalem.  The Levites, or Levi, did not receive an inheritance of land but were dispersed among all the tribes to be teachers.

During the book of Judges we have a fledgling nation that  really seems to be having a tough time of it. The last verse in Judges tells us that they all did what was right in their own eyes, and we do not see much unity.

The Israelites soon came to the priest Samuel and asked for a king like the other nations had. YHWH relented and King Saul was annointed King. Then along came King David. He was successful in uniting the tribes to become the nation of Israel and his son Solomon  finally built a temple to YHWH in Jerusalem that became a centralizing force for the Israelites. At the temple we now have a center for the worship of YHWH on a unified basis and it was a place that the males of the country could come together for a type of reunion to celebrate the feasts to the Most High.

After  the death of King Solomon there was discord among the tribes and a civil war ensued.  The nation of Israel spits into two nations. Very similar to the way the United States split during their Civil War. It was even divided in much the same way , North and South Israel.

Judah was the southern nation, and included Judah, Benjamin, Simeon and many of the Levites as the temple was in Judah's midst.   The northern tribe was called Israel  and included the rest of the tribes of Israel.

Israel, the northern tribe set up a new capital and built their own temple and changed some dates and times for their festivals and went down a path of rebellion to YHWH. They never had a king that properly obeyed YHWH and pretty much became like many of the surrounding  nations.   YHWH used the Assyrians as a rod of correction and after many years Israel , the northern tribes were taken captive and went up into Assyria. They never returned to the Promised Land  and were eventually dispersed to the four winds.

As for Judah, the southern nation, their kingdom had a little longer in the land. Around 125 years. In those years they had a couple of kings that would revive the old laws that had been delivered to them in the wilderness, but eventually, they too, were taken captive by the Babylonians.

Judah along with the tribe of Simeon, Benjamin and the surviving tribe of Levi was in captivity for 70 years and then allowed to return. Upon returning they did build another temple.  But , from what I have read and studied they did not return to the old ways set down by Moses. Instead they began a religion called Judaism.  It was  named after the tribe of Judah. Many of the leaders of this new religion were of the tribe of Judah and Levi. And this is when the name for the people in the land at this time began to be called Jews.

Jews have many traditions and strive to base their religion on YHWH's laws.  However, what I will say here is probably very controversial , however, it is what I have come to understand about this time period.  YHWH did not create a religion, He created a government. In that government he was King and to be served. What the Jews created at their return was a religion. It is based on laws and traditions and is an attempt to recreate the way of YHWH.....but they have not created a government.

And this is the rub. YHWH's government included all twelve tribes. He dwelled with them in a sanctuary and was accessed by the priesthood. Today we have no sanctuary and we do not have a functioning priesthood.  We do not have a government of YHWH on this earth.

What we do have is a people that may or may not be descendants of Judah that call themselves Jewish. What they have done for the world is preserve the laws of YHWH's government in the Torah. They have preserved the name of their Elohim/God even though the priest would not allow the use of the name which caused a further separation of the people from Him.

They have, now, resettled the land, but have not done as Israel was commanded to do when they came into the land. The government there is secular and there is no  sanctuary or temple.  YHWH does not rule or govern the land. And there is only a small, very small, portion of the Israelites living there today.

So what does it mean to be Jewish? It means that you belong to a man-made religion based on doctrine. Much like any other of the thousand religions in this world.

Only when all tribes of the Israelites come back together under the leadership of YHWH will we once again have a true government  that will be a light to the nations and will bring peace to this world.  There is a lot that will have to be done. May it begin soon.

My Name

I have a very unique name. I have googled it (my whole name) and I am the only one in this country that has this name. I really like my name. When I was younger I always used a nickname  because my name seems to be for an older woman.  It is hard to think of calling a little two year old girl by the name of Winifred. My parents always called me Wendy. When I was little and all through school I was the only person I knew of with that name, either, now Wendy is a very popular name for a girl, but not Winifred.

Winifred comes from England. And it's meaning is quite wonderful . It means "lover of peace".  Don't you just love that? And does it ever fit me. Growing up and into my adult years I had a lot of drama in my family, as many of us do. When I married all that changed. My husband was more conservative and quiet. Not much drama going on with him. I did not grow up with a lot of peace and I truly did not know what it was so I labeled it "boredom".  Then having three sons I , once again, had plenty of drama and activity....oh for a little boredom.   Now , in my older years  I now know what that boredom was, It was "Peace" and I have grown to love it. I am a true "lover of peace" and my name fits me well.

There is something in a Name. Especially when it's yours. You want people to say it correctly and are usually quick to correct their pronunciation of it. You want it spelled correctly in letters and  documents of importance, and resent the fact that someone may have spelled it wrong. Of course, it is of great importance that is be spelled correctly on your driver license or marriage certificate and any other legal document and can really be a hassle if you have to go have it changed of fixed legally.  A name is very important.

Another thing about your name. You don't want it to be drug through the dirt and to become besmirched.  You want to have a good name of reputation, one that is thought of in a positive way. When people go to name their children they want to name them a name that is doesn't have a negative history. For instance, you don't hear of too many children being named Hitler, or Jezebel (Please, don't be offended if that is your name...make it your goal to strive to change that image.) for obvious reason.

Yes, names are important , especially yours or mine.

The point being, we have a Creator, and he has a Name.  I will be using the JPS Old Testament (1917) also know as the Tanakh throughout my blog. Most all of us grew up thinking that His Name LORD, God, Father, Adonai, El, the Almighty, and others, but all of these words are not names, they are correct titles for Him. Just like I am a woman, a mother, an aunt, a grandma, but these are not my name. My name is Winifred.  The name of the Creator was not known until He revealed it to Moses. I like to look at it this way.

In a court of royalty you would address the king as "Sire" . Or in a court of law you would call the judge, "Your Honor".  And in business you use  Mr. or Mrs.

When Moses came along and the Creator wanted to call out a people from Egypt to make His own nation He told Moses. (paraphrasing) " You have known me as Elohim, or God Almighty. Well, I have a name and you don't have to call me Mr. God, you can call me by my Name. We will be on a first name basis because we are going to become very close friends".  Actually they became closer than friends but that is another subject. Let it just be said The Creator revealed His name to Moses for the first time because He and Israel, Moses' people, were going to become really thick friends.

Just like my name and most others it has a meaning. And this meaning describes who He is. He had a way of doing that, when you read your Bibles you will notice often times the meaning of the name is given and it represents something about that person. So The Creator told Moses what His name was and what it meant. This is the famous setting with the burning bush.

Exodus 3:11And Moses said unto God: 'Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?' 12And He said: 'Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be the token unto thee, that I have sent thee: when thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.' 13And Moses said unto God: 'Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them: The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me: What is His name? what shall I say unto them?' 14And God said unto Moses: 'I AM THAT I AM'; and He said: 'Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel: I AM hath sent me unto you.' 15And God said moreover unto Moses: 'Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel: YHWH, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you; this is My name for ever, and this is My memorial unto all generations.

Now we have a Name , a forever name, that identifies out of all the so called gods in the world the one true Creator of man and He has chosen a man and a nation to identify with on a first name basis. How important is that Name?

Now why in the world does all our texts from the Bibles use the word LORD to identify Him. Every time you see the word " LORD " you should be seeing the Name, YHWH. Why is it missing, another way to look at it is, Why is it hidden?

Such an important , personal Name, hidden. How important is it? and why was it hidden?  I would like to try to answer that question.

First , how important is that Name?

Leviticus 22:32 - And ye shall not profane My holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am YHWH who hallows you,

Here is one of the 10 commandments.

Exodus 20:6 - Thou shalt not take the name of YHWH thy God in vain; for YHWH will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.

Leviticus 19:12 - And ye shall not swear by My name falsely, so that thou profane the name of thy God: I am YHWH

Leviticus 22:32 - And ye shall not profane My holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am YHWH who hallow you,

Here are just a few of the scriptures that refer to the importance of HIS Name:

1 Chronicles 16:10 - Glory be in His holy name; let the heart of them rejoice that seek YHWH.

Psalms 8:2 - O YHWH, our YHWH, how glorious is Thy name in all the earth!

Psalms 9:11 - And they that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee; for thou, YHWH, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.

Psalms 29:2 - Ascribe unto YHWH the glory due unto His name; worship YHWH in the beauty of holiness.

Psalms 34:4 - O magnify YHWH with me, and let us exalt His name together.

After reading these scriptures and see their importance, I must ask you something.

And this is between you and your god, only. How many times have you called on the name of YHWH?

If you have never called on His Name and have called on another name then you have missed the point. Only His name is referring to God, the Creator and Father.

All other names are in vain.  As sincere as you may be you must call on Him, seek Him and He will answer you. He is the one that can give you peace, answers, joy and salvation.

Yes, I know that the name has been hidden or lost, but we should be looking for it once we know that it is missing. If we read the old scripture and the new ones we should be aware that the foundation is the old. It came first. If you look for the Creator then obviously you are aware that He is referred to several times in the old scriptures for us all to see. Now you know that LORD is just a title and not His Name.  This if made very clear on the day that he spoke to Moses at the burning bush.

There is also only one that saves and no other.

2 Samuel 22:47 - YHWH liveth, and blessed be my Rock; and exalted be the God, my Rock of salvation;

Psalms 68:20 - Blessed be YHWH, day by day He beareth our burden, even the God who is our salvation. Selah

Isaiah 12:2 - Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for  YHWH is my strength and song; and He is become my salvation.'

Hosea 13:4 - Yet I am YHWH thy God from the land of Egypt; and thou knowest no God but Me, and beside Me there is no saviour.

Isaiah 43:11 - I, even I, am YHWH; and beside Me there is no saviour.

Isaiah 45:21 - Declare ye, and bring them near, yea, let them take counsel together: Who hath announced this from ancient time, and declared it of old? Have not I YHWH? And there is no God beside Me, a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside Me.

YHWH is the Rock of our Salvation.

Have you been seeking another rock? There is no other Rock.

Even Moses tells us that others will seek another "rock" but there is none.

Deuteronomy 32:31 - For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

And they seek another vine.

Deuteronomy 32:32 - For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter;

If you are not seeking the rock or vine named YHWH again your search is in vain.

Why have you not known His Name?

Jeremiah 23:27 - That think to cause My people to forget My name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers forgot My name for Baal.

Another word for Baal is Lord.....they have forgotten name for a Lord.

Let me tell you what happened...the Israeli priesthood hid the name. They would not allow it to be spoken or written.  They separated the people from their El, their God.

Was the TRUE Pronunciation of YAHWEH Lost?

Now we should investigate the Hebrew names for God more closely.  The name of God that gets the most attention in this teaching is "Yahweh" or "Jehovah," which is more traditionally translated "YHWH."  This name comes from the four consonant letters "YHWH" in Hebrew, and is so called the Tetragammaton.  Because ancient Hebrew was written only in consonants and a few semi-vowels, those who read it aloud had to supply the missing vowel sounds.  The Jews after returning from the Babylonian captivity under Ezra and Nehemiah (c. 450 b.c.) began to reverence the name "Yahweh" so greatly they outlawed the very use of it, first for the common people, later for the priests.  Finally, only the high priest, and then only on the Day of Atonement, was allowed to say it.  When Simon (300 to 270 b.c.) died, who was the last high priest permitted to use it, a total prohibition against saying the Name came into force among the Jews.  They would substitute the word "Adonay"--"Lord," or sometimes "Elohim"--"God," for the YHWH whenever they encountered it when reading aloud the scriptures.  The medieval Jewish scribes who preserved the Hebrew Old Testament, the Masoretes, around the sixth or seventh century A.D. devised a system of using dots and other small marks to symbolize what vowels came between the originally inspired consonants.  However, the pronunciation of "Yahweh" was not preserved by them.  Whenever YHWH appeared in the next, they put in the vowel points for Adonay or sometimes, as appropriate, Elohim, in order to avoid saying "Lord" twice in a row.  This clued the oral reader to say the substitute name for Yahweh.

Why did the Jews stop saying YHWH?

The Jews came to have this misconception against saying "Yahweh" due to a misinterpretation of Leviticus 24:11, 16.  The Hebrew word translated "blaspheme" in these texts--nachav--can also be translated "to say clearly" or "to declare distinctly."  If we translate nachav this way in Leviticus 24:16, a total prohibition against saying "Yahweh" results:

"'And whoever [declares distinctly] the name of [Yahweh] shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him . . . (NKJV throughout, unless otherwise noted).'"

Since the Jews over the centuries made the oral tradition of interpreting the law a hedge or fence around the actual written law of the Torah to help ensure the latter wasn't violated, the same practice was adopted here.  To play it safe, they decided never to say the Name--YHWH--even though the inspired scriptures contain this name time and time again, demonstrating the falsity of this tradition.

There are numerous scriptures that tell us to call on His Name, and should make this old tradition null and void.

1 Chronicles 16:8 -  Give thanks unto YHWH, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.

Psalms 72:17 -  His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.

Psalms 80:18 -  So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.

Psalms 105:1 -  O give thanks unto YHWH; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

Psalms 116:13 -  I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of YHWH.

Isaiah 12:4 -  And in that day shall ye say, Praise YHWH, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.

Isaiah 45:3 -  And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, YHWH, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

Zephaniah 3:9 -  For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of YHWH, to serve him with one consent.

Zechariah 13:9 -  And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, YHWH is my God.

And for those that don't call on Him.

Jeremiah 10:25 -  Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.

Eliezar Ben Yehuda (1858-1922) began promoting the use of Hebrew at home and in schools. The Hebrew language was considered a "dead language" . And after the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the early 1900's the Name of the ancient God was revealed for all to see. At that time we begin to see a resurgent in seeking out this Almighty God , YHWH, that had been lost.

Another personal question for you to only answer to yourself. Now that you know the Name are you going to begin seeking more about that great Creator, YHWH?

I personally, had to go back and reread the old scriptures when I discovered this and every time I ran across the words "the LORD" I had to replace it in my mind the holy name of YHWH. Now I don't even see that word anymore or even like to say it. It has been replaced in my mind. Also, when reading scripture in this new way, a whole new paradigm opens up. You are no longer thinking of the god/man that is referred to in the new writings. I hope I have proven to you that he is not YHWH.

One last scripture that I think is of vital importance, and on it, I will close. I hope YHWH will give you new eyes to see.

Joel 2:32 - [3:5] And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of YHWH shall be delivered; for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those that escape, as YHWH hath said, and among the remnant those whom YHWH shall call.
